Because you love to read, we hope you can find something to enrich your life. I am just getting this site built so check back with us and see our treasures.
I would like to share with you the way this book store came to be. From the day I learned to read, I read everything in sight. Milk cartons,(obviously that was back in the day when milk came in cardboard cartons),roadsigns, and anything else that I saw. I managed to secure a job working in the school library so I had access to all the books. My school was very small, there were only 309 people in the whole town so it did not take me long to go through all the books. By then I was hooked. By reading, I realized that there was a world beyond my little Texas town. There were many nights that my parents found me under the covers with a flashlight long after "lights out", reading my latest treasure.
After graduation, I married an Air Force man, Jim, and was able to see many of the places that I had read about. I began collecting books of every kind and on every subject. Wow, what a wonderful world we live in and what a variety of cultures are out there. And history!!, Way beyond the school text books. Over the years I collected so many books and they all had to be packed and moved each time we transfered to a new duty station. By the time we retired I had hundreds of books. My friends, family and I traded books until we had all read everything. So what to do with all those books that were crowding out everything in my house? So the idea of a bookstore came into being.
So here we are. We have just about every kind of book and love to share with people all the blessings which I have received through books. We support the local talent in our wonderful city, and offer gifts which are handcrafted by our own.
